to the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, but as it was unsuitable to drink, so Lady
Fatima used it to wash away the blood from his face. The bleeding would not stop so a
piece of scorched matting was placed over the wounds and the bleeding stopped.
Al Hassan and Al Hussain:
Lady Fatima had two sons, their names were Al Hassan and Al Hussain. The two young
boys were a great source of happiness not only to their parents but to their grandfather,
the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, who loved them so much that he referred
to them as his "sons".
One day as the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, was prostrate in prayer, one of
his grandsons climbed onto his back and sat there for quite sometime. Those praying
behind the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, wondered whether perhaps the
Prophet had received a new revelation telling them to prolong the prostration. After the
prayer was over they asked him about it, whereupon the Prophet, praise and peace be
upon him, smiled and told them what had happened!
