Allah says:
"Before the Fire they shall be exposed morning and evening, and when the Last Day comes, (it will be
said):) `Admit the people of Pharaoh in the most terrible chastisement!'" (Quran 40:46).
It was also well known that the Prophet - the praise and peace be upon him - and the good, early
generation were wont to seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the Grave.
This punishment of the grave is possible and the fact that the corpse may be dismembered and
scattered in the bellies of lions and the gizzards of fowls does not prevent the belief in it,
because the
bodily members which feel the pain of punishment are those particular members to which Allah had
ordained the restoration of sense, perception and feeling.
