(iv) The Scales
The fourth principle: Is the belief in the balance which is real. Allah says:
"We shall set up just scales on the Day of Resurrection..." (Quran 21:47).
And again:
"Those whose scales are heavy shall triumph, but those whose scales are light shall lose their
souls."
(Quran 7:8-9).
The manner in which this is done is that Allah causes to exist in the balance of men's deeds, a
weight in
proportion to the value of these deeds in His Sight.
Consequently the value of the deeds of men becomes known to them so that the justice of Allah in
punishment, His Grace in forgiveness, and generosity in reward might become evident.
