Omar went to the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him. When Omar
arrived, the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, held him in his arms and
shook him asking what he had come for. Omar replied that he had come hear more
about Islam whereupon the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, told him
that it was to bear witness that there is no god except Allah who has no partner and to
