they would donate some of their trees. The Companions were very generous and gave
according to their means until the number demanded was met. Then, the Messenger of
Allah, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, instructed Salman to prepare the ground and dig
holes for each sapling and told him to return, and tell him once everything was ready and
that he himself would plant each sapling. As soon as the ground had been prepared,
Salman went to the Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, who then went with him and
planted each sapling and not one of sapling failed to thrive.

The Gold

There still remained the matter of the gold. Unexpectedly, a man came to the Prophet
salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, and gave him some gold he had mined. Salman was
concerned the weight of gold would be insufficient and the Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa
sallam, perceiving Salman‟s concern said, “InshaAllah, Allah will bless it for you.”
