creating whosoever will praise Him.

An aspect of His Mercy is that, Allah simplified our thanking of Him with the short phrase,
"Praise be to Allah". Whereas if one should want to praise a person then one would have
to write pages just to satisfy his ego!

There was a time when a man cursed satan in front of the Prophet, praise and peace be
upon him, whereupon the Prophet told him, "satan will feel great now. Instead say, 'In
the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful,' and satan will be insulted and
reduced to lesser than a fly."

Referring to the first verse in “The Opener” (Al Fatihah) Imam Shafi'i explained how
“Bismillah Ir Rahman Ir Raheem” is to be understood as being the first verse. Those who
misunderstand this name the chapter by the second verse “Praise be to Allah.” The
misunderstanding has a simple explanation which all except one chapter in the Koran
start with "Bismillah" and if one were to call the chapter in mind by that name
then
another person would not know which chapter was being referenced.
