they believed the same, they too would receive the same treatment as Khalid. Thereafter
Khalid went to the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, and became his
constant companion.
There is also another report that tells that Khalid hid from his father in the valleys on
Mecca, and when the second group of the Companions migrated to Abyssinia, he
accompanied them. When his father Sa‟eed son of Al „As became ill, he declaired, “If
Allah removes this illness from me the god of ibn Abil Kabsha* will never be worshipped
in the valley of Mecca!” Whereupon Khalid supplicated, “O Allah, Do not remove the
illness from him.” Subsequently, his father died from his illness.”
*Abil Kabsha was the husband of Halima, the foster parents of the Prophet, praise and peace be upon
him.
