Eventually Chosroes uncontrolled anger abated and he sent someone to summon Shuja
to come back to him, but Shuja had already left. Chosroes‟ servant continued to search
for him until he reached Hira and then returned.
When Shuja (reached Medina) he went to the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be
upon him, and informed him that Chosroes had torn up his letter. The Messenger of
Allah, praise and peace be upon him, remarked, “Chosroes has torn his kingdom apart.”
Abu Salam, the son of Abdur Rahman narrates that after the Messenger of Allah‟s letter
had reached Chosroes, he read it and tore it up. Thereafter Chosroes wrote to Badhan,
the Governor of Yemen with the instruction saying, “Send two strong men to that man in
Hijaz and bring him to me.” Badhan complied with the instruction and sent his chief
minister Abanuh - who was an expert in the Persian language and numerology - with
Jadd Jamerah to deliver a letter to the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon
him. The letter ordered the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, to leave
with Abanuh and Jad for the court of Chosroes. Badhan also gave instructions to his
