When Abanuh and Jadd reached Ta‟if they met some unbelieving traders from the
Koraysh and inquired about the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him. The
traders informed them that he was in Medina. The traders were overjoyed and
exclaimed, “Now that Chosroes has taken a stand against the Messenger of Allah,
praise and peace be upon him, we have nothing more to do!”
When the two reached Medina, Abanuh spoke to the Messenger of Allah, praise and
peace be upon him, and told him, “Chosroes has written to Badhan and instructed him to
send someone to take you to him. He sent me so that you should come with me.” The
Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, replied, “You may leave now and
return to see me tomorrow.” The two presented themselves the following day and the
Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, informed them that Allah had killed
Chosroes then proceeded to detail the exact night and month on which his death took
place and told them that his kingdom had passed to his son Sherway. The two men said,
“Are you sure about what you are saying, may we write to Badhan with this news?” The
