he accepted Islam and his fellow Persians living in Yemen did likewise.

The son of Isaac narrates that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him,
sent Abdullah, son of Hudhayfa with a letter to Chosroes in which he invited him to
accept Islam. When Chosroes read the letter, he tore it up and wrote to Badhan, his
governor in Yemen – the rest of the hadith is similar to the one quoted above. However,
in this narration it states that when Badhan‟s men reached Medina, the spokesman of
the two told the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, “Chosroes, the king
of all kings has written to Badhan his governor with the instruction to send someone to
bring you to him. If you comply, I will send a letter with you which will benefit you.

However, if you refuse, Chosroes will destroy you and your people and turn your land
into ruination.” The Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said, “You may
leave now and return tomorrow.” The rest of the hadith is similar to the one above.

Zaid, son of Abi Habeb narrates that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon
him, sent Abdullah son of Hudhayfa with a letter addressed to Chosroes the son of
Hurmuz, the Emperor of Persia. The letter read:
