were fasting, none of the Emigrant or Helpers remained behind.
Upon reaching the oasis of Usfan and Amj they broke their fast after which they
proceeded to a place known as Marruz Zahran and it is there that they struck camp.
Accompanying the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, and his Companions were
also one thousand armed tribesmen with provisions from the tribes of Muzayna and
Sulaym.
The Koraysh remained unaware of the movements of the Muslims and that night Abu
Sufyan, son of Harb, Hakeem, son of Hizam and Budayl, son of Warqa left Mecca to
scout around for any news of the Muslim‟s movements.
Abbas also left Mecca but not as a scout rather to join the Messenger of Allah, praise
and peace be upon him, and met him on the road to Medina.
