Salman stayed with Maushil up until Maushil‟s death, and as death approached Salman
asked him for his recommendation. Maushil told him there was a pious man named
Nashiibiin, and that it was his recommendation that he should follow him. and so Salman
set off again to find and learn from Nashiibiin.
Salman found Nashiibiin to be another person who was devout in his worship and stayed

with him to learn and serve. When it was apparent that Nashiibiin‟s time on this earth
was coming to its finale Salman asked him where he should go. Nashiibiin replied, "O
my son, I do not know anyone else who is in teaching what we teach other than the
monks in 'Amuuriyah, (one of the countries in Al Shams), go there and you will find the
teaching is the same as ours.” And so Salman went to „Amuuriyah and served the abbot
up until his death.
The Abbot of ‘Amuuriyah tells Salman the Signs of the Expected Prophet
