Just before the Abbot of „Amuuriyah died Salman asked him the same question he had
asked his predecessors whereupon the abbot replied, "O my son, by Allah, I do not know
anyone who remains but I will tell you some of the signs to look for that herald the
emergence of the next prophet. I will also describe him to you and the location in which
you will find him. He will emerge in a land where they worship idols. There are two hills
between which pilgrimage is made. It is a place which is fertile with many date palms.
Between the shoulders of the next prophet there will be a seal, it is the seal of his
prophethood. Among his characteristics is the expected prophet will accept gifts but
does not accept charity. If you could find that country then go there because his
time has
come.”

It seems strange that the bishops and monks of 1400 years ago awaited the coming of
Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam). They knew his signs and even his
birth-place, yet after his coming and their rejection, they abandoned this prophecy so
