Salman meets the Prophet

Evening was approaching and Salman had a little food with him so he took it to the
Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, and said, “This is a charitable gift for you.” The
Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, was grateful for the kind gesture but told his
Companions to take it, and Salman said to himself, “This is one of the signs, he does not
accept charity!” It was getting late so Salman thought it was best to return to his master,
so he went back to Waadil Quroo.

Shortly after Salman‟s meeting with the Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, the
Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, settled in Medina and as soon as the opportunity
came Salman went to him with another offering but this time when he met the Prophet,
salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, he said, “I observed you do not accept charity, so please
accept this gift from me.” The Prophet, salla Allahu alihi wa sallam, was grateful,
accepted it and ate some of it then gave the rest to his Companions. Salman‟s heart
leapt with joy as this was another sign that had been fulfilled.
