The story of Prophet Shu'aib and the dwellers of the Thicket 26:176-195
26:176 The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers.
26.176 كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:177 Shu'aib said to them, 'Will you not be cautious?
26.177 إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:178 I am for you an honest Messenger.
26.178 إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:179 So fear Allah, and obey me.
26.179 فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:180 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds.
26.180 وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Shu'aib warns his people to trade with fairness 26:181-196
26:181 Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats,
26.181 أَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُخْسِرِينَ
26:182 and weigh with the straight scale,
26.182 وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ
26:183 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption.
26.183 وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
26:184 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient.'
26.184 وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
26:185 They replied, 'You are surely one of those bewitched.
26.185 قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:186 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars.
26.186 وَمَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
26:187 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful.'
26.187 فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاء إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
26:188 He said, 'My Lord knows what you are doing.'
26.188 قَالَ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:189 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day.
26.189 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:190 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe.
26.190 إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:191 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
26.191 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
26:192 Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds.
26.192 وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
26:193 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down
26.193 نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ
26:194 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners,
26.194 عَلَى قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ
26:195 in a clear, Arabic tongue.
26.195 بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِينٍ
